Dungeons & Dragons an evil killer!!!

Our assignment is to reply to a mom named Beatrice who claims D&D (dungeons and dragons) killed her son. Hmm...

Ok here's the story. Beatrice walks into her son billy's bed room and see's her son hanging by a rope in his closet. Then the paramedics come and takes her son away. Ok so now she see's that there is a stack of books that billy had been standing on and then kicked over and hung himself. And near the top not on top lies two D&D guides. So her conclusion is OMG D&D killed my boy! Then she calls a bunch of moms and finds out the billy was in a cult. And he had friends in the game but didn't really know him. So now she says that D&D an rpg (role playing games) should not be allowed to be played. She also said that she knew her son and that he wouldn't have done that. We'll beatrice guess what he did. I am sory for your loss.

My turn. Why the hell would you pop to the conclusion of OMG D&D killed your son. What other books were in the pile? Why if you "knew" your son did not know that he was part of a cult? Well I think that it might have not been D&D that killed her son instead it was maybe that beatrice didn't pay enough attention to her son. So then little billy's only place where he can feel belonging is in D&D. Or maybe it was pressure put on by his so called game friends? I don't think a game would cause her son to commit suicied. Ya ok so games can get addictive but thats why there is control or should be over the game time playing. Maybe thats what beatrice did not have and control her son's playing time on the game. Jumping to the conclusion of D&D killed billy is pretty ridiculos if you ask me.

Sincerely,
Derek

The Dog Racer

I am riding in a race with my giant dog. I am racing against other racers from around the world. the goal is to start in Sydney Australia, travel across all the continents and finish in Bejing China. The prize is abundant wealth and fame. I am the last along with three other racers out of twelve. Many racer have been disqualified from the race from getting stuck in traps or being severly hurt. There is much cheating and deception. So far I am in the lead with the other three racers behind me. they are gaining fast though. We are in the last leg of the race London to Bejing. Traveling as fast as the wind I make a gigantic leap over Egypt and land in Africa. I look behind me. One racer has been kicked off his steed by another racer. Now its only three of us. I look around me and see the African wildlife speed past me. One more leap and I land in Asia almost there. I look behind me another racer has dissapeared. Now it is just me and the other racer. We are now neck and neck. I can see the finish line. I beg my dog to go faster. We blaze through the finish line and are told the Even though I was behind the racer by an inch he was dissqualified for cheating. I have won the race and my dreams of becoming famous have come true.

Thompson's Violin

This is an assignment that are teacher gave to us.
Thomson’s Violin
One day, you wake up in hospital. In the nearby bed lies a world famous violinist who is connected to you with various tubes and machines.
To your horror, you discover that you have been kidnapped by the Music Appreciation Society. Aware of the maestro’s impending death, they hooked you up to the violinist.
If you stay in the hospital bed, connected to the violinist, he will be totally cured in nine months. You are unlikely to suffer harm. No one else can save him. Do you have an obligation to stay connected?
I would choose to stay connected to him and save him. It is not my obligation technically but I feel that as a human being it would be the right thing to do. Being in a hospital bed for 9 months would really get on my nerves and I would need to pass the time. I think I would talk to him about music, Christiantity, and other stuff. I don't know if I would except any bribes unless I really needed money. I know at some times I would want him to die so I could get out of the hospital and return to my normal life but I don't think I would ever actually mean it. I would also would want someone to do the same and to try and save me if that situation were to happen to me. So yes I would consider it to be my obligation to stay because of me being a human being.

Student Reflection

When we began school I felt that I was not going to be a very good student. The first few weeks I felt that I was going to fail my math class. I feel that I'm a better student now because I've gotten adjusted to the difference in this school compared to other schools. I have some challenges still. I've been working on improving my math grades and keeping up my other class grades. I feel that my weaknesses are continuing a normal level of how hard I work at something. My strengths are being creative. On a number over 100 I think I'm a 87. The reason I think this is because I try my best at times and I get distracted very easily but when I do try my best I come up with very good work. Always doing my best and  putting effort in my work always is what I'm trying to improve on. One of my goals for this year is to get all A's in my classes by the end of the year. I really enjoy my classes now that I've improved in them since the beginning of the year. I've also made more friends than I thought I would which has greatly improved my self esteem. I really think that this school will make me a smarter and better person.

Men in boxes

Bob knew that this year was his year to win the trophy and the bonus that came with it. Every year the buisness that Bob works at holds a series of compititions thats mostly for having a couple of laughs but for those competing it would earn them respect and a big fat check and of course a trophy. Bob lines up at the starting line along with five of his fellow workers. This was the main event he and the others were the winners of the days previous events. In front of him was a huge field with five boxes scattered about and in one of those boxes the prize that Bob had been striving for all day. He saw his box, the box that must have the check in it. BANG! goes the gun, they race for a box. Bob dives into one a searches for the check. No luck. Bob lifts off his box and sees that all of the other workers didn't find it either. In frustration Bob kicks his box. He spots something. Under Bob's box was the check. He pounced upon it and yelled in victory. The next day Bob was the most popular guy at work. He goes into his office and finds a note on his deck to report to the boss. Bob arrives at the office and his boss congradulates him on his victory and hands him the bonus money and trophy. Later that evening Bob was sitting in his bed with his marvelous trophy on his bedstand and thinks to himself " I knew I'd win". THE END
